Very attentive to the issues of food waste and promoter of numerous initiatives aimed at combating this phenomenon, Very serene restaurant has started a collaboration with the Municipality of Palmanova to teach young people not to waste food.

There are various reasons that push children to waste food and they tend to increase as children age. This is explained by Education Councilor Simonetta Comand, who also underlines how the new generations are unfortunately less and less accustomed to a diet including fruit and vegetables. Whatever the reasons that lead people to waste food, it is a phenomenon that must be eradicated, to the benefit of the planet's dwindling resources.

Together with Serenissima Ristorazione, the Municipality of Palmanova has thus activated an awareness campaign against food waste which consists of providing children who go to the school canteen with a bag in which to store uneaten food. The thermal bag, called "Merendasac", allows you to preserve those foods that can also be consumed at a later time such as fruit, yogurt, bread products and the like.

In addition to its obvious usefulness, Merendasac therefore also takes on an educational value, reminding children of the value of food resources and the importance of not wasting food. Parents were also deliberately involved in the campaign, invited to raise their children's awareness of carrying out this small but significant action at the end of the meal.
