Innovation Days 2022: Serenissima Catering guest of the event with Giulia Putin

The paths of sustainability and digitization at the center of the fourth appointment of Innovation Days 2022, an event organized by "Il Sole 24 Ore" in collaboration with Confindustria. A meeting between the business world and local institutions that arrived today in Veneto at the Venetian headquarters of Confindustria: among the guests of the debate also Very serene restaurant, present with the Chief Purchasing Manager Giulia Putin.
The event was opened by speeches by Fabio Tamburini (Director of “Il Sole 24 Ore”), Simone Venturini (Councillor for Economic Development of the Municipality of Venice) and Vincenzo Marinese (President of Confindustria Venezia Metropolitan Area of ​​Venice and Rovigo), who the emphasis on the issues of sustainability and digitalisation, also in the light of the guidelines provided by the PNRR. The goal is to trigger an effective post-pandemic restart in the country. "The Covid emergency has put us in front of a new reality, confirming how much digital innovation is a key factor in the process of corporate economic development", said Giulia Putin on the matter, highlighting how the pandemic has "increased territorial and generational gaps".
Starting from these premises, Serenissima Ristorazione has intervened to ensure that digital represents a lever to reduce these differences in levels: for example, "we decided to create an e-learning platform, a digital tool that represents a particularly interesting and flexible learning method, which offers important advantages, including the possibility of using training 'anytime and anywhere'", specified the Chief Purchasing Manager of the Group. Ranging between training, courses on safety and transversal skills, Serenissima Ristorazione thus provided over 40.500 hours of training in 2021, also issuing the relevant certificates on the subject.
Digitization has also involved the Group's business processes: for this purpose, latest generation equipment has been purchased, “the main initial investment in the transformation”, as observed by Giulia Putin during the event. Some examples: the use of an IT and security system to monitor meals during transport in special thermal trolleys, or the software dedicated to coding the personalized diets of patients, so as to forward the food needs directly to the Serenissima production center Catering. Corporate catering has also been involved in innovation, with the introduction of smart refrigerators in which it is possible to insert the dishes booked via the app and, with a unique QR code, collect them when most desired.
For the Chief Purchasing Manager Giulia Putin, however, it is necessary today "talking about the double transition: digital and ecological which is already influencing the economy, society and industry in every aspect". In addition to the advantages of a more sustainable and technological business, “Digitalization is favoring the creation of new business models, new approaches to the market that could change the rules of the game, offering new opportunities. Just think how often we resort to a call rather than driving kilometers by car, with the advantage of saving time and polluting less".
In light of this, what is the will towards the future? As stated by the manager, Serenissima Ristorazione intends to “continue to invest in innovation and digitization of our industrial processes, opening up to new technological, cultural, organizational and social changes to make our service leaner and more agile. And a clear objective of our strategy for the next three years is to accelerate the transition towards a sustainable and competitive economy thanks to more digital processes and tools".
